The Almeida Moreira Museum offers an opportunity to discover one of the most enthralling characters of 20th century Viseu.

Almeida Moreira was the founder and first director of the Museu de Grão Vasco and from an early age revealed a deep love of art and collecting, as can be seen from the contents of his house. On his death, he left the house to the local council, and wanted it to be used as a library-museum for the use and cultural rejuvenation of the city. Today, the museum has a collection of various pieces, including paintings and sculptures and a library containing a collection of signed first editions.
