At that time the Quinta was the Solar do Visconde de Treixedo in Lourosa de Cima.
Quinta de São Francisco was acquired in 1996 by Horácio Marques da Rua, thus fulfilling an old dream - the production of wine.
Not being originally a wine-producing farm, the main grape varieties, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz, were planted in 1998. The production focuses on red wines and is characterized by an inimitable ruby color, round body and velvety consistency in the mouth, where delicate notes of red fruits, plum and blackberry can be felt.
Wines that stand out, from the outset, for their delicate and intense flavor, of high refinement.
At the moment, the farm has a production of around 40 thousand bottles a year, along with the production of wines, the farm also has olive oil and blueberries.
