The Monteiro Albuquerque family has been producing wines for over 100 years and 7 generations.

In 2006, the 5th generation of Monteirinhos decided to launch a producer-bottler project with its own brand, with restructuring and ordering of the vineyards and construction of a new and modern winery.

The first wine was launched on the market in 2013, Quinta dos Monteirinhos - Red 2010, followed by the first encruzado in 2014. This is an agricultural project that seeks, on the one hand, to honor the history of an agricultural family from Beira Alta and , at the same time, promote the excellence and elegance of Dão wines.

Our wines tell the family's story: The properties have been in the family's possession since the end of the 19th century. The wines were made for decades in the winery and cellar of the Casa de Água Levada, and later in the Adega Cooperativa de Mangualde, of which we are founders.

The wines with the Quinta dos Monteirinhos brand are more recent, but do not forget the family history. The 2016 red wine will be launched in 2019 – Menino Afonso (Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Jaen), the first Monteirinho of the 7th generation and we will launch the first single variety Touriga Nacional - Pai Miguel.

Our Father Miguel, a special personality, has dedicated a great part of his life to making Dão wines in many Cooperative Wineries in the Region. It was he who continued the family's agricultural tradition, bequeathed by our Avô António, which we pay homage to at Reserva Encruzado – Avô António, a wine that, like our grandfather, leaves no one indifferent.

Avô António dedicated his life to agriculture and agricultural cooperativism, having been the founder of the Adega Cooperativa de Mangualde, Grémio da Lavoura, Lagar de Azeite and Cooperativa da Maçã da Beira Alta. He died early (1970) and it was his wife, our Grandmother Fernanda, who continued the family's agricultural business.

The White Blend - Grandmother Fernanda (Encruzado, Malvazia Fina, Cerceal, Bical) is a tribute to the strength of her matriarchal presence. At Rosé, we pay homage to our Mother, Rosa Maria, a flower with charisma and a special shine. Finally, when ready, a monovarietal Cabernet Sauvignon - Pai Manel will be launched, in honor of the father of our winemaker Hugo Chaves de Sousa.

Our parents were like we are, friends for life! They left too soon. We stayed, but in fact our parents Miguel and Manel are always with us.
