The Cancela de Abreu family keeps records of its activity since 1884, in a cosy house built in the centre of Mortágua village.
Quinta da Giesta, in the municipality of Mortágua, stems from the dream of creating a wine that reflects the beauty of the region in na authentic way.
The Sociedade Agrícola Boas Quintas was founded in 1991, when Nuno Cancela de Abreu, representative of the 4th generation, decided to put his experience in the area of viticulture and oenoloy, at the service of this own production project of “Estates Wines”, in the Dão region.
Since its first steps, the mission was to produce high-quality wines, with distinct character and personality and the philosophy that wine is born in the vineyard, fruit of the natural conditions and the regional grape varieties, which is why we take special care in handling and respecting nature.
